Land cost would be the big difference between here and Michigan. We can pretty much only plan on 125 bu corn. That number may be closer to 140-150 with better hybrids and drought tolerance. The cash rent range here is $75 to $110. Good farmland from $2000-$3000.
Eastern KS may be different but we rotate enough here that there are no SmartStax planted. Fertilizer applications vary I'm sure, almost no lime needed here though, no tile expense. If we were losing money at 210/acre we woulda quit planting corn in this country a long time ago.
