SE Nebraska | Nh3 has really spiked in price locally. Right now the difference between liquid N and nh3 is .06 a pound. I’m thinking at that difference I may switch to liquid. I have drop nozzles for my sprayer so I can put it in a band. I have some ground that I usually side dress N on with the sprayer in season but I will have some corn on fields that it isn’t feasible to side dress with point rows and terraces. My question is can I get away with putting 120# of N out pre plant if it is in a band. If I run a stabilizer will that help? I know there are unknown variables that will effect the N stability. This is corn on beans with 150 bu yield target. If anyone has a better system in mind please feel free to share. I’ve never tried running across the rows but I suppose I could but I am worried about getting it in the whorl and damaging the plant. | |
