Subject: RE: milo growers deserve every penny

York, NE
Back in the 70's and early 80's my dad and uncle raised 600 acres every year. We would start harvest at 18 moisture and dry with natural air for hog feed. The rest went direct to elevator. They raised 120 bushel on average with ramrod and atrazine for chemicals. We always started about noon because of dew but would run till midnight or after depending on conditions. Early frost was the main cause of it going down. Ran Hesston head hunters on our platform every year. Itchy all the time but no different than soybeans seem to be now. No worse going down than corn dropping this past year. Ramrod and atrazine now there was a chemical combination that would turn settle out just over noon. You always made sure barrels were empty at night or spend the next morning cleaning out all your hoses and spray tips.
