Subject: RE: Paradyme settings for Intellislope

Are you asking a specific question? Are you using built in radio or cell modem? Or are you using an external radio or cell modem?

Basic requirements from user manual:
• Baud—19200 or 38400
• Hz—5 or 10 Hz
• NMEA messages—GGA, VTG, and GSA. Turn off all other messages.
• ParaDyme and GeoSteer antenna heights must be set to 0 in the steering vehicle profile.

Also make sure GGA is set to "current" on Paradyme NMEA strings.

If you are using built in radio or cell modem, the standard cables issued by ag leader for paradyme ( 4003460-6 or 4003460-14) will work fine as is. If you are using built in radio/cell modem you will want to set up port A on paradyme for intellislope settings.

If you are using external radio or cell modem with paradyme, things get a little tricky. It is not "officially" supported, but it will work. The challenge is that the standard cables (4003460-6 or 4003460-14) for paradyme is wired to send NMEA out of port A. If you want to feed external corrections into paradyme, you you have to use port A as well. They both can not use the port at the same time.

The solution to using external radio or cell modem with Paradyme is to rewire the pins on the paradyme/intellislope cable ( 4003460-6 or 4003460-14). On this cable there is actually a DB9 serial cable for "GPS out". From the factory the DB9 connection is wired to port B of Paradyme. You will need to switch the pins from port A and port B. Four wires total need to be moved Tx and Rx from both port A and port B. Basically (1) wire the the DB9 (external RTK radio/cell modem) to Port A of Paradyme (2) wire GPS input of Intellislope to Port B. You do not need to solder or cut any wires. Simply pull apart the deutsch connector of the paradyme/intellislope cable ( 4003460-6 or 4003460-14) and swap pins.

Once the harness has been rewired you will set up Port A to communicate with your external radio/cell modem. You will set up Port B to communicate with Intellislope.

On our own farm we ran ParaDyme on Gold Digger Pro tile plow using external 3rd party cell modem using the above steps. It worked flawless for 2 years. We have since upgraded our PardaDymes to 6500 RTK. If you want to run a 6500RTK with external cell modem and intellislope, you will have to add serial port C to harness. General steps can be found here for 6500: https://talk.newagtalk.com/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=703964&posts=1...
