Kingston,Mi | David, the collection of data was about 25 years ago, the conservationist who did the calculations enlisted the rest of the office to collect the snow samples, he retrieved and weighed the dust samples. I do not remember the actual soil loss per acre. I know that a report would be prepared and should be available if enough searching was done, I have seen other reports of erosion work we got involved with in earlier years. The Tuscola Soil Conservation District employed a tech to help the conservationist who was in charge, unfortunately He died this past Sept. but likely could have remember the soil loss.
NRCS would have been collecting the information for the interested parties, Farm Service Agency, Michigan Dept. Of Agriculture and NRCS. The work would be reviewed at some point by Agriculture Research Service as they are the department that is charged with various science projects, the rest of us assist. | |
