SW MO | So, maybe I'm crazy, but can anybody tell me about goats? We have a farm we bought that is grown up, and seems like goats would be a good way to clean it up. Also have some timber that isn't used that seems like it would be a good place to run goats. Thinking about drylotting/putting them in barns for kidding, and gestation on pasture. Have access to plenty of grain, and a couple of good sized sale barns in the area. Would get a donkey or llama for protection. Can does be set up like hogs to be constantly kidding a group or is that not a good idea? Any ethnic markets/slaughter houses in STL/KC/Tulsa/OKC/NWA? Please let me know all you know about meat goats in general, seems fairly lucrative. Thanks | |
