“These are the times that try men's souls.” | When you but a gate cut say 10 head out of set of cows like 50 head. You get the first 10 head to run though the gate. You can't hand pick then. So a auction sale say for 50 head and seller might offer lots of 10 head, the first bidder gets choose if they want all 50 head, or only 10 head. Then they open bidding up again same deal buyer gets offered all remaining cattle at that price or 10 head. This is done until all cattle are sold. But when they are loaded out of pen to go to new buyers the first 10 head though gate will be first bidder, then next 10 head would be the second bidder, etc.
