I have a Vermeer baler with an automatic greaser and an automatic chain oiler witch I believe is what you are asking about. I bought my baler new and per the advice of my dealer chose to never oil the chains or use the automatic oiler. I just traded it with 6,500 bales on it and the chains are still in good shape. The theory is that it did not collect dust and dirt whitch seemed to work well. I do believe in the automatic greaser though.
+1 we don't oil chains and have no issues. Been running balers 10-12,000 bales then trading.
