Subject: RE: electric easement

Electric co needs to go across a 1/4 mile of a farm i own under ground. There are several tile line they would have to cross also .The line will supply other customers as i have no need for electric on this farm. What would be a fair price for an easement. thanks

Depends on how they do it. Have them bore it and your tile will be fine, just make sure they go deep as in 8-10 feet so you never hit the line if tile need fixing or new tile installed. If they plow or trench it, you have to have WAY more as you may have trouble with existing tile settling. When rural water went thru here, they replaced cut tile with PVC inside the old tile so no settling. Is there a way they could go around the perimeter instead? Electric company here just put in miles of new underground and took down their poles. All went in the road ditch.
