Yes I think you will need to change it back. I also changed an EZ Steer from an EZ Guide + to EZ Guide 500 and remember same as you. Different software for each. I also remember it wasn't too bad to do once I got the software loaded on a laptop then took the laptop to the tractor. Then......found out I needed a cord adapter to hook it up. :-( Just a slight delay waiting on Amazon to ship it. Good luck to you.
