WCNY | Had to laugh when i read this thread I had this discussion with the owner of the firm that installed my Geo unit in my shop 4-5 years ago. He said no way it will work you can't radiate cool, the floor will sweat, wouldn't be efficient an so on. 2 years ago i tried it and it does work the only thing that sweat was the piping out of the unit. It works very well in my opinion. Disclaimers are i cant say it efficient, methanol was added in the ground loop but not the floor loop (they are separate) there is 4 inches of insulation under the floor if it makes a difference?. I found you need to keep the cooling set point above 55 degrees or so otherwise the piping will sweat profusely but floor its self stays completely dry. BTW the owner of firm still doesn't agree it works but his employees do. | |
