Your scenario is perfect. I’m 100 miles away and realize “did I shut the garage door?” Now you can know, and if you didn’t, you can put it down.
There is also a timed feature, set it to auto close at say 10:30pm. No more getting in bed and the wife asking if you put it down and then getting out of bed to check.
