My dad wore overalls practically every day of his life. He preferred the low back kind with the brass buttons on the back waistband where you fastened the galluses. In fact, the seat of his pickup had a hole worn in it where those buttons rubbed but they quit making the low backs. He was one of those men who could walk into the local bank and borrow money on his word and a handshake. For Christmas my mother made my niece a pillow out of material from the pair he was wearing when he died. The EMTs had cut them off him in the emergency room but mom was able to get enough material from them to make a nice sized pillow.
Had a neighbor who also wore overalls - with nothing underneath, not even shoes and socks. Not really an image you want to promote.
