SC KS | I am a crop consultant for my job that actually pays. I wear carhart insulated carpeter jean an under shirt and long sleeve button ups in winter. Same thing just uninsulated jeans in summer. Pliers on NY hip and sTeel toe boots too. I have counter parts that wear kakis or slacks to talk crop to customers. Clothing rule I remember being taught and sticking was dress slightly better than the audience you intend to interact with. My attire may not look as professional as my counterpart but we get our message across. I feel if I look like a banker they may dread seeing me. If I look like an extension of their farms they will be more welcoming. When I show up to set their planters they know I have the tools for that chore on my hip and in my head.
Then I get off work go farm and lose money right along with my guys. So I don't want to go change clothes throughout the day like a high school girl. | |
