Houston County, GA | I want to try less than 3 acres of sweet corn this summer. Central Georgia, I'm assuming well plant it well before April 1st. I have a 4 row Case 900 plate planter. Thought about a 2 row covington or Yetter JD 71 planter. 36" row spacing. How many seeds per foot?
Once its planted what is the best premergence spray? Should we go with RR sweet corn or stick with a conventional white or bi color as long as coffeeweed (sicklepod) pig weed and grass can be controlled. We can cultivate and spray over the top but no hooded sprayer.
How do you know when to start spraying for ear worms. Do you think we can get at least 1,000 dozens per acre? Yes it will be irrigated. Thanks! Stay warm | |
