The formula for weight loss or gain is pretty straight forward- if you eat more than your body requires you will gain weight and if you eat less then you will lose. Doing it is the hard part and sticking with it is even harder. So, the best thing you can do is find something that you can live with so that it becomes your normal. Cutting back on carbs is one tactic- especially cutting back on carbs like pop, candy, pastries, white bread, white rice and things like that. A good way to get a handle on what your calorie needs are and what your actual intakes are would be to use a program such as My Fitness Pal. Keeping track of what your intake is and what the portion sizes are can be a good way to get a handle on what the right amount of food should be that will result in weight loss. Exercise is helpful too, but it takes a lot of exercise to compensate for eating too much.
