Subject: U.S. export sales + exports - reflects typical holiday trade with MY lows for W, corn and soy sales


Kansas City
Wheat: Net sales of 131,000 metric tons for delivery in marketing year 2017/2018--a marketing year low--were down 72 percent from the previous week and 76 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were for the Philippines (59,000 MT), Mexico (58,800 MT, including decreases of 400 MT), Nigeria (48,000 MT), unknown destinations (33,000 MT), and Colombia (6,000 MT). Reductions were reported for Morocco (90,000 MT) and Peru (300 MT). For 2018/2019, net sales reported for Nigeria (20,000 MT) were offset by reductions for Morocco (20,000 MT). Exports of 228,100 MT were down 56 percent from the previous week and 49 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were to Mexico (60,600 MT), Thailand (55,000 MT), Taiwan (46,000 MT), Japan (34,200 MT), and South Korea (17,300 MT).

Exports for Own Account: The current exports for own account outstanding balance of 4,300 MT is for Italy.

Corn: Net sales of 101,200 MT for 2017/2018--a marketing year low--were down 92 percent from the previous week and 91 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for South Korea (66,200 MT, including 63,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 1,100 MT), Taiwan (57,500 MT), Mexico (54,600 MT), Peru (53,000 MT, including 45,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Guatemala (30,900 MT, including 27,200 MT switched from unknown destinations, 5,000 MT switched from El Salvador, and decreases of 1,600 MT), and Panama (30,100 MT, including 7,000 MT switched from Colombia). Reductions were reported for unknown destinations (214,300 MT) and Morocco (22,500 MT). Exports of 657,600 MT were up 26 percent from the previous week and 5 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to Mexico (185,900 MT), Japan (148,600 MT), South Korea (131,000 MT), Peru (52,200 MT), and Guatemala (36,800 MT).

Optional Origin Sales: The current optional origin outstanding balance of 657,500 MT is for South Korea (342,000 MT) and unknown destinations (315,500 MT).

Barley: No net sales were reported for the week. Exports of 1,400 MT were reported to Japan.

Sorghum: Net sales of 61,900 MT for 2017/2018 resulted as increases for China (127,900 MT, including 66,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), were partially offset by reductions for unknown destinations (66,000 MT). Exports of 75,400 MT were down 38 percent from the previous week and 59 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destination was primarily for China.

Rice: Net sales of 46,600 MT for 2017/2018 were down 56 percent from the previous week and 26 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for Venezuela (16,000 MT), Haiti (15,500 MT), El Salvador (5,700 MT), Japan (4,400 MT), and Mexico (2,600 MT). Reductions were reported for Canada (300 MT). Exports of 21,800 MT were down 53 percent from the previous week and 66 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Saudi Arabia (9,800 MT), Mexico (3,600 MT), Canada (1,900 MT), South Korea (1,700 MT), and Japan (1,600 MT).

Exports for Own Account: The current outstanding balance of 300 MT is for Canada.

Soybeans: Net sales of 554,000 MT for 2017/2018--a marketing year low--were down 43 percent from the previous week and 64 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for China (478,500 MT, including 136,000 MT switched from unknown destinations, 60,000 MT switched from Bangladesh, and decreases of 5,300 MT), Japan (100,000 MT, including 64,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 3,200 MT), the Netherlands (79,100 MT, including 67,500 MT switched from unknown destinations), Vietnam (78,100 MT, including 63,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Egypt (66,000 MT), and Venezuela (60,000 MT). Reductions were reported for unknown destinations (343,600 MT), Bangladesh (57,000 MT), and Spain (3,600 MT). For 2018/2019, net sales of 6,800 MT were reported for Japan. Exports of 1,147,900 MT were down 19 percent from the previous week and 26 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were China (679,700 MT), the Netherlands (79,100 MT), Vietnam (72,300 MT), Japan (72,000 MT), and Mexico (60,800 MT).

Optional Origin Sales: The current optional origin outstanding balance of 129,000 MT is for China.

Export for Own Account: The current outstanding balance of 12,200 MT is for Canada.

Soybean Cake and Meal: Net sales of 109,000 MT for 2017/2018 were down 62 percent from the previous week and 60 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for Mexico (25,400 MT, including decreases of 400 MT), Guatemala (17,100 MT, including 10,800 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 500 MT), Canada (14,300 MT, including decreases of 100 MT), Panama (14,000 MT, including 3,700 MT switched from Colombia), and the Philippines (9,100 MT). Reductions were reported for unknown destinations (1,800 MT), Colombia (1,100 MT), and Cambodia (100 MT). For 2018/2019, net sales of 8,900 MT were reported for Mexico. Exports of 214,400 MT were down 4 percent from the previous week and 15 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were to the Philippines (50,200 MT), Mexico (38,400 MT), Ecuador (30,700 MT), Spain (18,800 MT), and Canada (14,600 MT).

Soybean Oil: Net sales of 17,900 MT for 2017/2018 were down 60 percent from the previous week and 31 from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for Guatemala (9,500 MT), South Korea (4,900 MT, including decreases of 100 MT), Mexico (1,300 MT, including decreases of 100 MT), and Colombia (1,200 MT). Exports of 31,500 MT were up noticeably from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average. The primary destination were South Korea (16,900 MT), the Dominican Republic (5,400 MT), Jamaica (3,500 MT), and Mexico (3,000 MT).
