Central Nebraska | mx270a - 1/5/2018 08:55 If you created the partitions manually, maybe the Master Boot Record didn't get set to indicate which partition is the bootable one. I've used SSDs from Intel and Samsung. Both of those come with data migration software. Connect both drives, run the migration software, it copies everything. No need to do one partition at a time. If your SSD is one of those brands, I'd suggest trying their migration software.
I too would suspect it is a problem with the MBR. It either didn't get transferred or its not in the correct location on the drive. MBRs to my knowledge must occupy the first blocks on the hard drive. I second the recommendation to use cloning software. If you bough a name brand drive it should have came with it or you should be able to download it from their website. |
