Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | I had Tru-Count air clutches on a 1760 for several years. They worked OK but should be disassembled and cleaned on a regular basis. Mine were with a Pro-Drive conversion so they were fairly easy to remove. Without the Pro-Drive they would have been mounted on the seed shaft which would make them harder to remove for cleaning.
We now have a 1770NT planter with ground drive (Pro-Drive) and vacuum. For this planter I went with Ag Leaders Sur-Vacs. These are the covers with the plunger assembly that blocks off the vacuum allowing the seed to drop off the disk when planting is not desired. I've gotten along fine with them but they will not work with Deere's 40 cell disks. We have eSets on the planter and the Sur-Vacs work fine with them. In my case I run them with an Ag Leader display and Ag Leader's Clutch Control Module. They can work with other controllers also. |
