| Well been thru all this twice now and really wish I had the option of selecting the time that me and my wife thought that the kids should get phones, but unfortunately the teasing/pressure in school makes you give in faster than you wish. I was kinda lucky though as that was over 7 years ago and my youngest was 12. She was one of the last 2 to get a phone in her class at age 12.
Think average age when kids get phones has gone way lower as pressure from classmates getting them and how cruel kids can be about teasing/bullying. So I think majority are not going to have the option of waiting until you "want" to give them a phone, but that is just my opinion. I thought we were going to give them a phone "when me and my wife" decided....I was wrong!
