NC Indiana | My son took over my FIL's old cell number after his death in 16 at age 11 ( a flip phone we transferred to an old slider we have). He had old candy bar type Trac phones prior to that for 911 purpose. He helps with chores and checks fence and it is helpful if he has questions, needs extra help, and is piece of mind for us. Pay phones are few and far between these days and with practices, 4-H, etc they need to have a way to get a hold of us. In high school my daughter is often in need of wifi service to homework and class projects, but the schools network is over loaded so she hot spots her phone and utilizes her time available in class better. I swore they did need one, but the world we grew up in is long gone and a smart phone is a valuable tool as much as it is a toy. | |
