north central Iowa, Hampton | I learned a lot from Von's posts in the last couple years. Finally got my attention when I had to really exhale to bend over and tie my shoes!
Protien--very little in the way of carbs and a lot of vegetables.
When I'm in a truck it's a 3-4 slices of summer sausage for noon--the rest of noon is carrots, celery, sliced up bell peppers, raw broccoli, etc. I'm not hungry with all the veggie in me. Breakfast is eggs, sausage and some fruit.
Water till you're sick of it--then drink more.
I turn on an old Andy Griffith or something to laugh with, then make myself spend the whole episode keeping my elliptical moving. I think elliptical is less jarring than the treadmill.
I also started doing (say it very quietly) a half hour or so of yoga 4-5 times a week. It's really helped my flexibility and balance and I sleep better if I stretch before bed. I found videos from Sean Vigue on YouTube worked for me. (The "for beginners" ones are about where I want to be) When I looked at it, most of the stretches are about what you'll see a football team do.
You can do it if you want to!
