Agree completely with the colder statement. We pulled all carpet several years ago and put down laminate. It looks terrific and is east to clean. Right now, at 7°F, the floor is cold and when the GGchildren come to visit,  (6months to 3 years) it is difficult to keep them on rugs or blankets. We have been considering putting carpet back in the living room.
