Subject: Rye and Radish field

East Central Arkansas

After not having any cover crop fields for the last couple of years I tried a few small fields this fall. In this field I ran a paratill a few weeks after soybean harvest and after we received some rain I planted the rye and radish cover directly into the old soybean rows. The middles were run with irrigation busters after the rye and radishes had grown to a pretty good size. We should get some weather cold enough this week to burn the radishes back. I think I have enough growth on them this time that they will winter kill.
