Ok. Right now I have them maxed out, in order to get max voltage from the CPU (9v I think) which triggers a relay that sends 13v to the valve. However, perhaps, I need to find out just the min voltage needed to trigger the relay and set the valve threshold at that.

Maybe when the CPU sends signal to correct elevation, then is satisfied, it doesn't go to zero volts, but rather just backs off a volt or two into a standby mode, and it is still enough voltage to keep the relay engaged.
