roaming | Ted,
Since you mentioned that the GPS light went away when the signal was acquired, it sounds like you have v4.* firmware. No news is good news in 4.*.
All AFS displays have the ability to display LAT, LONG and ALT. You may need to set this up to appear on your YIELD or HARV screens, or you can find it on the GPS screen in older firmware. Some firmware versions also have a "GPS STATUS" box, where you will see some combination of D, G and three bars indicating signal strength.
In 4.* firmware, you have to select LAT, LONG and ALT as parameters to be displayed on your YIELD1, YIELD2, or YIELD3 screen, just as you select INSTANT WEIGHT, ELEVATOR SPEED, or any other options.
Yes, if you are successfully recording data, you will get the solid black REC indicator in the upper righthand corner of the screen. This indicator requires that a valid datacard is inserted (before the display is powered up), minimum elevator shaft speed of 250RPM (max 599), minimum ground speed of .5MPH, and header below the stop height.
AFS displays cannot use GPS speed yet.
Required receiver configuration for mapping is 8N1 NMEA 4800 at 1Hz. GGA and VTG strings are required. All others should be turned off. | |
