Faunsdale, AL | Two stage. You might actually have some moisture you want to remove one day. That being said you can vacuum and purge with dry gas (nitrogen or even refrigerant!) and vacuum again and get rid of moisture with even your old refrigerator compressor but the high vac pump sure is simple.
I once converted a milk tank from circulating ice water cooling to direct expansion R134a. Really wasn't too hard, blew with compressed air, clean water, compressed air until everything was coming out clear and then blew it clear with compressed air and started vacuuming with my old York/Tecumseh piston compressor and purging with dry nitrogen. I installed a large receiver dryer with replaceable core and charged it up. I never had to change the dryer, so the process must have worked pretty well | |
