mercer county, il
I do not think that FBN is a threat, as most who are willing to spray themselves or shop around have already gone to wholesalers, at a better price point than FBN anyway.

For me at least, the retailers biggest threat is themselves. I am fine with a markup, it is called doing business, but a 100% markup is not acceptable. The tiered pricing and different pricing on everyone for fertilizer also drove me to the terminals. I still remember when we were small and getting started paying way more than a neighbor for dry fert, billed and priced on the same day.

I still might buy Nh3 from them if they are close price wise, but generally 32% out of the river terminal is as cheap per lb. of N.

For chemicals we have just built up a stock, no more need for odds and ends from the locals.
