Coles County, Illinois | What gets me is that there's absolutely no effort to find out what I need. The typical seed sales effort is to stop me while I'm out doing something in the field. Mr. big farmer's son-in-law tells me he's the new sales rep for XYZ seed company, gives me a brochure and tells me how much he'd like my business. Well whupp-t-do. If someone wants to get my business then I want a proposal as to how they can help or at least some indication as to whether I'm satisfied with my present solution.
Years ago someone tried to get my soybean seed business and made a proposal that was nearly good enough. Trouble was it was more expensive for the same performance I was getting. Next year I'm going to all Liberty soybeans and my present supplier is a Monsanto company. The other guy picked up Stine so he got my business.
