Subject: RE: Removing net wrap from a bale

North Central IN
I do one of two things. Preferred is feed bale with pallet forks. Flip bale on edge, slide forks under bale, but not fully against the bale. Climb out, cut off wrap, then slide forks the additional 6" against the bale and go dump in feeder. 'Here' it doesn't seem to come apart when it is sitting on edge, and I move it 20-30'. I do this just outside the gate where I feed.

Second method using a spear. If there is ice, flip the bale over several times to get it loose. Then hang bale over feeder, cut at 3-4 O'clock position, and pull on the opposite side, while standing on bale ring. Retrieve chunks & net if necessary from feeder. Then climb back in and dump the bale.
