Agree with this, while the P3 was revolutionary when it came out it now feels dated.
Mavic, P4 or possibly Spark are all a better buy unless you can pick one up lightly used.
The P3 standard uses a simpler wifi system and will not go much beyond 1000 feet.
P3 Pro/Advanced and the recent ones other than Spark use a more robust system called Lightbridge with distances in miles.
In practise this gives you rock solid control at reasonable range.
