Boone Co. Iowa | One of the maps I saw a year ago showed how the "world" was hot but U.S. was cool; i.e. every country (continent, really) was red, burcept (my daughter is 5) U.S./N.A., which was blue. Not sure if that was due to ocean currents, or our ability to grow corn. I am really starting to think that BT corn (and it's root system) is able to keep plant health going similar to a tree, i.e. tap water down deep, and cool plant and atmosphere.
Makes me question my sanity a little, but I am amazed at our ability to grow corn; acres keep churning out bushels and we were really short on rain. Spent over 50% of growing season in the drought map. Above trend yields here.
Now, we have a spring where stuff gets drowned out, say 2-3%, and poor root system everywhere, and then it turns dry, we will see how corn plants respond.
