WC MN | We moldboard plow our continuous corn land and want to plant a cover on high spots in fields that are prone to spring wind erosion. Would like to seed the the cover using the micro bin on the Terra Gator while spring applying P & K and work the cover in with the field cultivator prior to planting. Would like to terminate the cover with the early post emerge herbicide application.
I realize the cover will not get very much growth but really want to just hold the soil in place until the corn gets some growth on it.
Questions I have:
1. What cover germinates earlier than or with corn?
2. What cover is small seeded and can go through the Terra Gator's micro bin?
3. What cover can be terminated with a corn broad leaf herbicide?
