S.E. Washington | Are we talking about a John Deere from 1972 or some newer machine? If you mean the old JD I prefer to take the four bolts that hold it to the rockshaft out and remove the whole seat and suspension as an assembly and rebuild it on the bench. TAKE CAUTION!! That system is a finger pincher and will bite you. Cage the spring before you just go prying it out of there also! New bushings, links, rollers and shock will help it ride flat and smooth. | |
