WCIL | Some on here forget that you can also forward contract for harvest delivery. Not all bushels hauled to the elevator off the combine are spot priced. Been many, many times that was better than storing for 6 months. We have several terminals fairly close, and hire 2 trucks besides our 1, and we can really move the grain at harvest. We store about half. Storage is not free and doesn't always pay here, but it is always a convenience at harvest. | |
