I tried 4 different nu-tech numbers this year because of the FIRST trial data from previous years. All were planted split planter with either P0157 or Channel 199-29. The Nu-tech 504 was the only number that showed good yield response against the checks. However, 504 looks to me like silage corn. It was bright green until a hard freeze in November. It was about 18 inches taller than any other variety with a higher ear set which probably didn't help because some of the plants were tipping over. That being said, I am still on the fence if I would plant it again. The yield was the only attractive part for me. It doesn't appear to me to be a great option, but what the hell do I know?
