Kingston,Mi

Marlette Livestock has their famous Mud and Junk sale (actual name is Spring Consignment Sale) where 2/3 of the consigned items fit the definition of junk although it is getting better as some of the junk is finally so flimsy that it actually made the trip to the scrap yard. The yard is big enough that some items that didn't sell are still in place at the next sale. The mud comes from the hay auction held weekly and the traffic in the lot. Have to have both for a good auction there. Always interesting to see the younger Amish try out every tractor and most of the trucks for size. Berville Lions used to hold a spring consignment auction on the same week end with the message on their auction list of NO CORN PICKERS OR TIRES!  which must have been a response to sod savages cleaning out the fence rows on their newly acquired mini farms.
