North Central IN | So I bought a cow at an online auction from a reputable breeder. Long story short, he calls me the next day says they found her dead. And he tells me he’s not going to charge me for a dead cow, which I appreciate very much. Have bought from them in the past, and they are good people.
They posted her, and he said someone had put a magnet in her and it had a 3” screw on it. She was full of blood clots, etc, etc. So that must be what killed her.
I have never put a magnet in a cow. But lots of people on NAT seem to put a magnet in whenever something isn’t right with a cow.
So what kind of magnet do you use? Is it supposed to stay in the cow for the rest of its life, or move on thru and get stuck on the side of your spreader while filling for a NAT approved load? How often do magnets improve outcomes? TIA
