14r-38 golden harvest

As a guy that plants lots of Pioneer I can tell you GH14R38 will never be your top yielder but it will yield excellent on your worst and best ground. I always plant several hundred acres to that number. Otherwise P1197 is best. P1751 is excellent but can hqvr a weak shank and will ear drop in tough conditions. P2089 will fall over at normal populations and drought conditions. If planting 2089, go 2,000 less population than what you consider average pop on your farm. You can thank me later for that advice.

Does 2089 have more top end then 1751 or 1197 at 32k?

We have never planted any 2089 cause everybody looks at me funny in our seed meetings. Planted some 1751 this year and it out yielded 1197 by a fuzz and was only 2.5 points wetter.

I plant P2089 because it's 120 corn and keeps it's moisture up at the end of harvest. IMO, it's top end is pretty similar to 1197 but a little better than 1751. The disease rating on a scale of 1-7 with 7 being the best is a 6 for northern corn leaf blight and a 6 for grey leaf spot. In other words it never needs a fungicide which adds to its profitability. It is one of the tallest plants you will see and has a massive flex ear. You decrease the population because if it gets dry in early fall it can go down.
