Taxes are mandated. Why not insurance. If you own a car you are mandated to have insurance. I guess the human body not quite as important. Only way I see mandate going away is lifting requirement of hospitals to treat everyone without insurance. Things would get pretty ugly in a hurry.
Insurance on your car is mandated to take care of the other person.
You don't even have to have a car.
If you are living on earth you have to have a body.
We do have that little thing called the constitution that was designed to protect us from this stuff.
