west central Iowa | That year for me bad luck turned out to be good luck. I had been pasture farrowing for a couple years on a very small scale. That year I kept 50 gilts that should have farrowed in the spring. Something, probably PRRS went through them and only about 5 had pigs and they were small litters of runts. But that was the best thing that could have happened. The gilts themselves got fed about anything I could think of to keep them around until the market came back a little. | |
