Subject: RE: Milking robots

NS Canada
Any I've been around have an auto sort gate, their ID gets read and they either get sent to milk or back to feed. When they enter the robot everything is automatic, they're cleaned and milked, milk analysed, and off the cow goes. No one needs to be around (as in standing right there), as the robot will notify you of any problems - text/email. It also tracks all herd stats of whats being produced and which cows are doing what. Some with odd udders take a real long time for the sensors to line up and get the milkers on - so that will be noted.

Have also heard some older cows won't take to them, but once you have the herd onto it they all seem to show up readily. 60 cows to a bot seems to be pretty standard - lots of news barns and robots around here.
