Subject: RE: Saddle blankets?

“These are the times that try men's souls.”
Every horse I've ever owned or ridden is different. So it calls for different pads, blankets on hand. I've used everything from wool pads with the old time cannas covering to thick piled wool pads, felt type. It seems you can't buy a decent Navajo blanket anymore, and I've yet to find one that you can place under a pad. They are too short, I figured I would sore a horse trying that. My biggest pet peeve is not being able to find pads large enough to be used with our saddles with bigger skirting on them.

So do you guys pressure wash your pads to try and keep dirt and grime out of them, or just toss them after a while? Also another peeve of mine, guys not cleaning cinches and galding horses when they ride a lot of different horses. Just like a sexually transmitted disease, they can pass that cinch rot onto a lot of horses by not cleaning a cinch.
