Subject: HughesNet satellite internet

Southeast WI
We are in a donut hole for internet service. Dsl speed is at best 1.5 Mbps and usually half that. Went the unltd cell data but now after 15gb per month that is throttled down to 0.6 Mbps so completely useless (Verizon said verbally when we switched throttle down meant 3G speed, nope....). So we need SOMETHING.

Who uses HughesNet? Talked to rep and for $70 per month we would get 20 gb of data - not enough but wait. Speed would be 25 Mbps download and 3 upload. Once we go past 20 gb it would get throttled down to 3 Mbps download at the slowest and "probably" not worse. That would be totally acceptable for what we do. And no extra cost for going over.

So who has real world experience with HughesNet? Not much for options here at this point.
