Scheels may be the one exception to my advice.

I would check the local sport shops first, because we need to support local businesses as much as possible, but Scheels has some of the best customer service I have ever come across--it's about the only sporting goods store I frequent anymore. I would take Scheels over a local shop with an attitude.

It really is addicting! I see things I never would have just walking through the woods. I have had birds sit on bow. Squirrels throw fits about me 3 feet away. Deer come through 5 yards away--you can almost see it on their faces: "Huh, that tree got fat overnight." Does take naps in front of my stands in the sunshine. I joined them.

And man, do you ever get the shakes after taking a deer with a bow. It's an incredible feeling.
