Southwestern Minnesota | The winter season is different than the summer/fall season in Duluth. They have snow up there now. It's still a fun place to visit and should be less busy at this time of the year. Canal Park and the lift bridge is always a good place to visit. Supper at the Radisson at the revolving restaurant is a fun way to see the skyline. A drive up the North Shore is always beautiful, no matter the season. If you like snow and skiing, Lutsen is fun. The resorts around that area in Tofte are nice. Gooseberry Falls is a nice stop. If you plan to drive up the North Shore a little farther, Grand Marais is a fun town to spend an afternoon in. Of course Split Rock Lighthouse is a pretty spot, although the lighthouse is probably not open now. The Glensheen Mansion is usually decorated for the holidays and is an interesting spot as well. There should be plenty to do, although the summer season has more to offer and the temperature would be warmer! | |
