Subject: RE: Want to go to Duluth mn

nw MN
We have done the vrbo thing up there (before vrbo was a thing) and always had an amazing time. For relaxation it is hard to beat going north. We have stayed a few times in Tofte area about 90 min north of Duluth, I'll link one we have actually stayed in that we loved. It seemed to just hang out over the lake. There is a ton of options on VRBO now. They usually have good pricing around this time since it is between fall color and peak ski season. I think I could build a fire and sit there and watch/ listen to the water for 3 days straight. It is right near lutsen mountain ski area. If you don't like skiing you can take their gondola up to the higher mountain and eat there/ lookout over the lake from 2000' up. Bluefin bay resort is right on the water and have a nice bar/restaurant onsite. They have an outdoor hottub overlooking the lake. Really nice rooms and some condo rental options there. What kind of activities are you guys looking for? There are mining and railroad museums in the area. Brewhouse/ restaurants in Duluth. Betty's pies in two harbors is a must. All the little towns will have tourist shops. Grand marais is worth a day to look around, but it has been years since I have been there. Head inland an hour or so and you can go to tower area and see the sudan underground mine (they might not be doing tours this time of year). They have a casino if you are into that.
