Mid Atlantic states, USA | At 3800 bph the impact plate is receiving 59 lbs per second which is not a huge amount of grain.
The bph figure will not be accurate until you complete the calibration. That is one reason to use speed to set flow.
Unless you are running the Incommand display on version 2.5 you have to complete 4 cal loads to have a non linear calibration. If only 3 cal loads are included in the calibration it will not be accurate and the highest flow rate can be off 10% or more.
Calibrations need to be done in crop that is uniform. If the crop is uniform then speed is an excellent way to set the flow rates. Top flow rate or speed needs to be twice or more of the low flow rate or speed. With a 12 row head you don't need to travel very far to harvest 3000
