I depends a lot on what you are wanting to use the signal for. For most (if not all) of the integrated steering systems it requires that the GPS be internal, i.e. can't use an external GPS for steering. So some of these cheaper units may not help on the tractor/implement in, but they do open the door to cheaper base stations.
Has anyone gotten a Piksi system running?
