Subject: 9760 John Deere gear case full maybe?

Lancaster, Pa
06 4000 engine hrs. Walked up to it to put away for weekend. Saw alittle oil on frame rail followed it up to case tube which was moist from oil but not a lot. Thought o great case is full of oil. Pull dip stick 4 inches and oil comes out, put back in pulled it the whole way and got a tube full of oil. Called Deere tech and he said split the 2 back pumps see if there's oil in there so did that and non. He said has to be hydro pushing oil past seal into case. So I start machine and pull it 500 feet into shop. Shut off and check the case level it is normal and so is hydraulic reservoir. So was it really over full? When I pulled dipstick combine had sat for 30 hours prior to me starting and pulling in shop. Now I wish I would've check oil level before starting. If it was over full where, how did it get back. Iam stumped and so is tech. He says run it and keep an eye on it. Anybody have any other thoughts.
